CHARDONS
This work explores the fascinating world of Barn Quilt Patterns. Unique and symbolic coats of arms of farms or communities in rural areas, they were imported from Central Europe by Eastern European immigrants who arrived in the United States 300 years ago, and spread to Pennsylvania, New England and then the American Midwest.
Extensive research has been conducted by Donna Sue Groves on this tradition, its colors, compositions and symbolism, applied to the contemporary Barn Quilt Patterns to which this model belongs.

PLAISANCE
This work is based on a cubist painting by the American artist-painter Katrina Moldavie: "THE SAILOR'S EMBRACE".
The colored reflections dress the water with vibrant colors that endow the work with an invigorating and positive energy.
There is the pleasure of travel, sailing and boating.
The treatment of the mountains in the same spirit adds this vitality to the mineral kingdom, while unifying the work in the same joy.

VEGA
VEGA is part of the Barn Quilt Patterns tradition. It is a theme called “HEART BEATS” from Montgomery Graphix Studios, reminding us that even in the darkest times, our lucky stars will guide us to a constructive path, where we can, once again, find meaning in our existence, be inspired by it, and continue to grow.
JOIES
This work, inspired by Elif Safak’s COLORFUL WHEEL in the Vasarely tradition, evokes children’s games. The round shapes recall the movement of the spinning top in its apparent simplicity, and the equally simple and immediate happiness of its childish spectator.
VIBRATIONS
VIBRATIONS is the reworking of the work BLUE SHIFT by the British painter Liam Hennessy.
It is part of the theme of stained glass windows, of which there is a copy in each of the major colors of the universes of the exhibition.
It reminds us that like sound, light is also vibratory, that it influences mood, dispensing its positivity in comfort, joy and elevation.

DISTINCTION
This work is the work carried out by the artist at the end of the April 2024 training at the Boulle School to put into practice the techniques worked on.
It was a question of moving from working with straw to a coherent composition, in this case a panel intended to be inserted into a tray.

CARPE DIEM
This work is based on a creation by the artisan decorator of "L ’OR SUR LA PAILLE".
In this universe, the passing of time is not intended to be neutral but encourages us to live fully in the here and now, free from pre-existing fears or worries about the future, by accepting to be surprised by life itself.

EPIDORE
EPIDORE takes up one of the most classic motifs of straw marquetry traditionally made simply in gold. By giving it the colors of the EMERGENCE universe, this allows it to be centered differently in the present, by charging it with the vitality of the orange tree and the intimacy of the Havana.
CHAMPAGNE
This work is the result of the reworking of the paintings from the GLYMPSE series by the Californian painter Alexandre Eulert.
The upward movement of the figures in the work and the lightening of their colors towards the top evoke urban space and resonate like champagne bubbles.
The nets with cubic dimensions in which these creations are inserted are part of an architecture where black collective zones coexist with orange zones, active and invigorating, or with those, more private, with Havana notes, all in the image of the abundance of life.

GENESE
GENESE is part of the stained glass tradition. It reworks a geometric stained glass window made by Françoise Naud, an art glassmaker from Saint-Nazaire. The uncreated is suggested by the non-figurative nature of the work. The deliberate choice not to imprison each component in a frame, like the lead of stained glass windows, refers to the impermanence of the genesis of a creative process. Inspiration is born from the progressive aggregation of memory and sensory stimulations throughout the creation of a work. It is the experience of the gradual arrival of creative light that this stained glass window expresses.
TRIDIM
"The most relaxing color for the eye on an optical level due to its spectral wavelength, green also opens the doors to more subtile dimensions, another reality suggested here by the 3D dimension."

This checkerboard, made on a square base, illustrates one of the practices of geometry that allows us to perceive shapes differently. The result is a trompe-l'oeil in volume while the work is flat.

SECRETS
This work is inspired by the coffee table "ILLUSION" made by the Artisan d'Art Benoît Cazes.
In this new version, the green color inside the box reveals another dimension of life, symbolic and esoteric, rich in meaning.
The variations in shades of the green parts express the ambivalence of the forces that this color covers, but also celebrate nature, in the richness of its diversity.

NUANCES
NUANCES is inspired by a creation by the contemporary Brazilian artist Hercules Barsotti, who was a figure of the "Neo-concrete" movement. It is part of a set called "FORMS, NUANCES AND TRIDIMENSIONALITY".
This reinterpretation shifts the work into a different universe, without changing the core that founds its identity.

POLES
POLES comes from the patchwork quilt creations of the "Ruche des Quilteuses" which also works to create Barn Quilt Patterns.
This pattern is generally presented in an aggregate of four to six adjoining pieces.
By isolating a single pattern, its polarities are highlighted, illustrating the three-dimensional dimension of this universe in the quaternary of the cardinal points and the Compass Rose.

ECLATS
ECLATS is a new example of stained glass.
Originally painted in acrylic on wood by an unknown artist, this motif, erected vertically, results from a work on the radiation of light, which comes from the outside to the inside like the lines of this composition.

MONDRIAN
This clock is part of the work of familiarity between the different types of arts. It also shows that straw marquetry can be used in multiple universes, decorative or utilitarian, accessible to all, including here on the occasion of a housewarming party.
AVENIR
This work combines a classic straw marquetry motif called “sun” with birds and a boat, created using the free-form technique directly applied to the support.
CHOUETTE
The little owl is actually a pendant whose link is hidden behind the work. Having received it for her tenth birthday, its owner can leave it in its frame or wear it around her neck at will.
PLANETARIUM
An allegory of planets for a recipient close to nature, this work results from both direct collage work on the support and the transfer of compositions made on tissue paper.
20 ANS DEJA
In this creation made for a wedding anniversary in the recipients' favorite colors, three dots highlight the colors of their original flag.
ILE DE BEAUTE
This representation of the 18 "Rughjoni" of Corsica is the first creation illustrating an island with its singularities.
If the colors draw the territorial limits, the perimeter is treated in straw mosaic mixing the blue of the sea and the gold of the beaches of the Isle of Beauty.

ENERGIE
All the works produced are unique pieces, here with a pendant echoing the Allégresse universe, delivered with a fine braided leather cord, matching the colors of the pattern.
